No Running Now... ("Gangsta" Chapter 10 Review)

So I forgot about Warrick's whole back-story about how he and Nic ran away, so seeing this first page made me scream because it had completely slipped my mind that Warrick was a gigolo since he was like fifteen 😖​ HE LOOKS LIKE A BABY!! NO BABY SHOULD BE DOING THAT

But then again how are you going to make money for both yourself and another person in such a neighborhood when you're most likely not even old enough to get a job.

So in this first page Warrick is currently leaving someone's apartment after "fulfilling a request". The news station on the TV is playing in the back, which explains that Twilights were now freed from slavery after the reinstatement of the Three Principles. This explains why Nicolas was staying at Warrick's home in the past: he was taken in as a slave, most likely to protect Warrick and his family.

It seems pretty obvious that Doug doesn't do very well when he's caught off guard, so much that he almost gets killed by Nic's psychotic ass.

Luckily he's saved by Ms. Ginger (who I freaking love right now because, hey!! It's our first female Twilight) before he got sliced in half. Nic just doesn't seem to give two shits about her OR the fact that he's conflicting with the Three Principles, which causes Warrick to step in before things got even more ugly.

And here our questions are answered: What are the Three Principles?

Basically Twilights are still under humans in the societal pyramid. They're not allowed to hurt humans, they're required to take orders from humans, BUT in the event where a Twilight is in a situation where they're not hurting or refusing orders from humans they're allowed to defend themselves.

I feel like the government cheated them to be honest.

And here comes another badass female Twilight!! Gina, or Paul Klee-san, is the leader of the guild that both Ginger and Doug are from. She comes in this scene to remind Doug and Nic of the Three Principles they're under and to deliver their punishment.

At first I thought they were real bullets until I saw that Doug was still talking after being shot in the head.

Gina then shoots Nic, temporarily putting him on the floor. Warrick tries to interfere but is suddenly stopped when Ginger puts a gun to his head. Turns out the bullets contained a drug called Downer. Telling by name and reaction, this is some kind of paralyzer.

Warrick attempts to stop her again this time with pleading but interrupts himself when Gina smirks at him (which kind of creeps me out but whatever). I wonder what kind of relationship they have 🤔​

So apparently there's an "upper" side to the Celebre drug that Twilights use. It must be some kind of huge transgression to overdose, because I feel that Gina's taking this a little too seriously.

WHO THE HELL IS THIS VERONICA CHICK???

I'm insanely curious to find out who she is. She must've been a Twilight, because I don't think any human would overdose on such a thing. My guess is that she overdosed, maybe attacked a human and got executed for it or died of the overdose. But I remember in one of the earlier chapters (or someone told me I'm not sure) it's said that Nic was the one who killed Veronica. So maybe they got into a fight and she overdosed, but maybe the overdose was too much and left her vulnerable for Nic to come in and kill her.

Alex is still being haunted by the memory of her old boyfriend, Barry. In the middle of a rain storm, Dr. Theo comes by but instead of going in he stands under his umbrella outside the office window. Alex then walks up to it and under the umbrella she sees Barry staring at her with a nasty smirk, making Alex shut the blinds and fall to the floor in shock.

I'm wondering what else he did to her besides physically abusing her and forcing her to be a prostitute, since it was enough to make her hallucinate seeing him despite the fact that she'd actually saw him dead and even shot his corpse several times.

And that's where this scene ends, which pissed me off because it was so good. Think her hallucinations will take over and cause her to mistake Dr. Theo for Barry?
