This is Too Cute... (Koe no Katachi Chapter 9 Review)

So in this chapter, Nagatsuka invites Shouya to hang out with him after school, which was ironic as hell since Shouya was just asking himself, "I wonder if Nagatsuka thinks of me as a friend?"

And so they go see a movie together and get food, the usual stuff, and in the middle of a conversation Shouya stops and asks Nagatsuka,

IS ANYONE ELSE LAUGHING AT THIS GUY'S FACE RIGHT NOW??

Like bruh, it must've been a while since you last socialized.

But then Shouya explains his situation with Nishimiya, and in the end Nagatsuka says "Friendship is something that defies both words and logic."

To be honest I wouldn't expect a boy who's like... 14 (?) to say that.

Anyway, on Tuesday Shouya goes back to the sign-language class, only to be answered by the same boy (I thought he was a fucking girl this whole time) as last time with the same response.

"She's not here."

Shouya then tells him that he just wants to speak to her, to which the boy replies, "If you're just trying to make yourself feel better, you can leave now."

This makes Shouya just go BLANK

But at the last second before the boy completely shuts the door,

FUCKING NAGATSUKA RUNS IN AND ACTUALLY TRIES TO THREATEN HIM

This is the cutest thing ever to me because they literally just met the other day and this guy's already trying to threaten someone just to help his friend out.

THIS GUY'S THE DEFINITION OF TRUE FRIENDSHIP AND EVERYONE SHOULD BE MEASURED BY THIS

I'm exaggerating, of course, but seriously how cute 😊

However, Shouya isn't very pleased with this whole scene and tries to stop Nagatsuka because he was drawing too much attention to them. Embarrassed, Shouya runs out of the building after everyone starts coming out of the classroom to see the commotion.

If I were him I would've just dealt with it just to see Nishimiya.

So he stands outside of the building, basically given up for the day.

But guess what

Nishimiya actually followed him outside, and they finally have an actual conversation.

Shouya explains to her that he didn't know whether or not they were friends, and that he assumed he didn't have the right to see her because of what he did to her before.

Coincidentally, Nishimiya was thinking of the same thing.

Nishimiya then brings up that she has to feed the koi fish as she took out her bag of bread. This makes Shouya take out his baguette all mighty and proud (so pure 😆)

Her brother, who's watching all this from the classroom with Nagatsuka, is upset at the fact that Nishimiya just forgave him so easily.

I don't blame him to be honest. Shouya was an asshole when he was younger, especially to Nishimiya. But I most definitely believe he's changed after the years of him just being by himself. If anything he's obviously grown more and matured.
